Frequently Asked Questions

Should I book an online consultation or face-to-face consultation?

When is video consultation appropriate?
If you live far/abroad and cannot travel for an appointment at the clinic.

Will I get all my hair back?
Hair follicles that are lost will never regenerate. Genetics determines hair loss, hair regrowth as well as effectiveness to medicines including Minoxidil hence hair growth varies from one individual to another.
At what level of hair loss should I seek help?
Only you know your hair and when you notice that your hair is thinning, seek advice. The earlier you get treatment, the longer you can retain your hair.
How long would it take for my hair to grow?
Hair follicles on the scalp are at different stages of their growth cycle and grow at different rates. Hair can grow from 0.5cm to 1.5cm per month. Depends on one's age, sex and ethnicity.
Why do different people get different rate of hair regrowth?
Hair growth varies from one individual to another depending on age, genetic predisposition, medical conditions, nutrition and many environmental factors.
Why should you get our products compared to other OTC?
Our products have added elements that studies show may enhance hair growth. They are unique to us and are available in strengths not available over the counter elsewhere.
What about hair loss products I can buy online?
You need to do your own research and some of the questions you need to ask yourself are: Are they genuine? Do they have the exact active ingredient? Are there scientific research papers backing their claims? Are they using psychology in advertising? For online clinics, are you satisfied about the diagnosis without having the scalp examined? Can you contact them and speak to someone?
Drawbacks of Hair loss hair sprays and hair loss foams
For any hair loss treatment to work, the medication has to reach at the scalp and finally the hair follicle. Medication being deposited on the hair shaft does not work to treat hair loss, so sprays and foams may lack the ability to fully target hair follicles by being wasted on the hair shafts.
What happens if I stop using hair growth products?
Unfortunately, hair regrowth occurs only while using hair loss products. After stopping use these products, one loses any regrown hair in about 6 months (varies).

Studies show that Prostaglandins are chemicals that also influence hair growth. One type the PGD2 has a negative effect on hair growth. Some of our formulations do contain an additional PGD2 blocker added to Minoxidil and Finasteride.
Do you have products for patients who cannot take Finasteride and Minoxidil?
Yes. We have formulated a product with elements that have shown in studies that help hair growth. However, Minoxidil and Finasteride will still be superior for treating hair loss.
Who formulates the products?
Our products to treat hair loss are formulated in our in-house pharmacy that is regulated by the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Do our products work?
Minoxidil and Finasteride have been scientifically shown to treat hair loss. Our products do work. Bear in mind that no results are guaranteed due to genetic variation between individuals.
Are the prescription products licensed?

How long should I use hair loss products for?
You start to see hair growth from 3 to 6 months with optimal growth by 1 to 1.5 years. If no benefit is seen by 12 months, a review of continuation of therapy is considered. If you have had good hair growth with no unwanted effects, you can carry on until benefit is evident.

Will hair transplant be the answer to hair loss?
Hair transplants are not the only answer to treating hair loss. Topical prescription based products should be first line of treatment. Hair transplants work for the right type of hair loss, right level of hair loss on the scalp and at the right stage. In early stage of hair loss, consultants may refer you to first try prescription topical products for hair growth. Often, after hair transplant, you will probably need to use topical products to ensure the transplanted hair follicle remains active.
